We aim to have every Subscription Edition allocated to an active subscriber, ordering enough copies to fulfil our current subscribers while allowing for additional subscription spaces where possible.

This means the only way to 100% secure a Subscription Edition is to have an active subscription. As an active subscriber, your copy is allocated as part of your subscription, so you never need to wait and compete for any copies that may become available through a future Extra Stock Sale.

Once all active subscriber allocations have been accounted for, any remaining copies may be made available. Where possible, we may open additional subscription spaces so new customers can join the subscription and receive the edition at the subscriber price, rather than waiting for a potential Extra Stock Sale.

If additional subscription spaces aren't appropriate or possible, remaining copies may instead be held for a future Extra Stock Sale at full retail. This will depend on a number of factors, including upcoming editions and available stock.

Extra Stock availability isn't guaranteed. The only way to guarantee access to a Subscription Edition is to be an active subscriber at the time that edition is featured in your subscription.

Subscribers receive their Subscription Editions at a special subscriber price, which means you will pay less than full retail.

The subscriber price only applies to Subscription Editions included in a subscription box.

This is one of the key benefits of subscribing: you secure your edition while paying the subscriber price, rather than waiting for the possibility of remaining stock at full retail.

Subscribers will generally receive 24 hours of early access to eligible Bookish & Spice sales, events and preorders.

This includes:

• Exclusive Edition preorders
• Extra Stock Sales
• Other launches and events we may hold throughout the year
  

We'll always announce any applicable early-access opportunities to subscribers in advance.

Subscribers receive 10% off eligible Exclusive Edition preorders during their 24-hour early-access window.

The standard preorder discount on Exclusive Editions is 5%, which is available to all customers after the subscriber early-access window ends. The 10% discount is a subscriber-only benefit and is only available during the subscriber early-access window.

Extra Stock Sales are opportunities to purchase remaining Subscription Editions after we've fulfilled our active subscriber allocations.

They're different from our Exclusive Edition preorders and are specifically for Subscription Editions.

Subscribers receive early access to Extra Stock Sales, giving them another opportunity to purchase an edition they may have missed, or editions from other subscription boxes.

However, Extra Stock is always subject to availability. We only have an Extra Stock Sale when copies remain, and remaining editions may not always be offered for sale.

If an edition is available during an Extra Stock Sale, it is offered at full retail price.

Subscriber benefits apply to anyone with an active subscription. This means you have a current, ongoing subscription with us and your subscription has an “Active” status.

Benefits such as early access to a preorder or Extra Stock Sale depend on you being an active subscriber at the time the relevant sale or preorder launches.

If all of your subscriptions are cancelled, you lose access to all subscriber benefits.

Being a returning customer does not make you a subscriber. If you have previously preordered an Exclusive Edition, purchased from an Extra Stock Sale, or otherwise purchased from Bookish & Spice without having an active subscription, you do not receive subscriber benefits, including early access.

From time to time, we may offer additional perks to our active subscribers.

These can include:

• Subscriber-only discounts
• Optional add-ons
• Surprise perks and extras
• Other special offers throughout the year

These additional perks will vary throughout the year.
