Subscription Books and Preorders:
*Special Editions that are advertised as Imperfect/Damaged are not eligible for replacement/refund under any circumstance.
At Bookish & Spice, we are committed to providing high-quality products and excellent customer service. However, we understand that sometimes items may arrive damaged or defective.
The criteria listed here serves as general guidance; each claim will be evaluated individually by our team.
Our replacement and refund process is outlined below:
Case-by-Case Evaluation:
All claims for replacements or refunds are reviewed on a case-by case basis and are at the discretion of our Customer Service team. We strive to be fair and reasonable in our evaluations.
Partial Credit or Compensation:
In cases of eligible damage, we may offer partial credit or compensation at our discretion.
Subscription Boxes:
Subscription boxes are not eligible for "change of mind" returns or exchanges.
Eligibility for Replacements:
Bookish & Spice will replace any damaged copies that meet the following criteria:

Additional Damage Criteria
Leather-look covers:
Titles with a leather-look hardcover are susceptible to creasing, particularly in spine/corner areas. These imperfections do not qualify for replacement and are an expected effect of this material.
Subscription Box Extras:
Complimentary extra items included in subscription boxes (e.g. bookmarks, art prints and pins) may be replaced, at the discretion of our customer service team.
Extra Stock Sales:
Special Editions that are advertised as Damaged are not eligible for replacement/refund under any circumstance.
Time Frame for Claims:
All replacement or refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of receiving your item. Claims received after this period will not be considered.
How to Submit a Claim:
To request a replacement, please email admin@bookishandspice.com.au with the following:
- A description of the issue
- Capture clear, detailed photos of the damaged items from multiple angles. This will assist the Customer Service team as they commence the evaluation process
Return Requirement:
In some cases, customers may be required to return the damaged item before a replacement can be issued.
