Exclusive Editions are typically offered for preorder first, but this isn't guaranteed for every edition.

While preorders are the usual way we offer our Exclusive Editions, there may occasionally be circumstances where an edition goes directly to an Exclusive Launch instead.

We'll always make this clear when we announce the edition. The announcement will include the relevant Launch date and specify whether the edition will be available for preorder.

Exclusive Edition is the term we use to distinguish books that are not part of any subscription box from our Subscription Editions.

We're primarily a subscription-based company, but sometimes a featured book doesn't fit our subscription genres. Sometimes we want to complete a series. And sometimes we just can't wait to share an edition with you.

Exclusive Editions are available separately from our subscription boxes, so you don't need to be a subscriber to purchase one.

Our Exclusive Edition preorders are generally open, meaning we use the number of copies purchased during the preorder period to determine how many copies we need to produce.

However, some editions may have a limited print quantity. This can happen when an author, publisher or other rights holder restricts the number of copies we're able to produce.

If an edition has a limited print quantity, we'll make this clear when the preorder is announced.

Exclusive Edition preorders are generally open for 6–8 weeks, although some may remain open longer.

When a closing date is confirmed, we will announce it via email and social media in advance. We aim to give at least 10 days' notice before the preorder closes.

If an edition has a limited print quantity, the available copies may sell out before the preorder closes. If this happens, the preorder will close once the available quantity has been reached.

Exclusive Edition preorders are placed before the edition is printed. Once the preorder closes, there's still a significant amount of work to do before your book reaches you.

We use preorder numbers to determine how many copies we need, then work through test prints, adjustments and approvals before the edition goes into production. Once production is complete, the finished books need to travel to us before we can begin fulfilment.

Because of all these stages, it can take several months after a preorder closes before your book is ready to ship. Sets and series continuations can be particularly difficult to estimate.

Our Exclusive Editions are limited to one copy of each title per person.

If you place an order for more than one copy of the same Exclusive Edition, your order may be cancelled at the discretion of our team.

Any purchasing limitations will always be clearly specified in the product description, so please check the product page before placing your order.

Please do not add other products to your cart when placing an Exclusive Edition preorder.

Exclusive Editions are often fulfilled in a mass fulfilment process specific to that edition. If your original order contains multiple products, our system may not correctly include your Exclusive Edition when that mass fulfilment takes place, which can result in your order being missed.

To help us fulfil your preorder correctly and avoid delays, please place your Exclusive Edition preorder as a separate order.

Once the preorder closes, we use the final preorder numbers to determine how many editions need to be produced.

The edition then moves through test printing, adjustments, approvals, production and transit before arriving with us.

Once the books arrive, we fulfil all preorder orders. After preorder customers have had time to receive their books, we quality check and count any remaining stock.

We may also need to wait for licensing or other final approvals before any remaining copies can be offered for sale.

If copies remain and everything is ready, those copies may then be offered at full retail price through an Exclusive Launch.

We cannot guarantee that an Exclusive Edition will have copies remaining after preorder fulfilment. For most editions, our production quantity is based on the number of copies purchased during the preorder period.

Once preorder orders have been fulfilled, we quality check and count whatever stock remains. If there are copies available and everything is ready for launch, we'll make them available at full retail price.

Some editions may sell out entirely during the preorder period, meaning there will be no Exclusive Launch.
