May Subscription Boxes Update: Shipping Delay

Unfortunately, our May boxes have been delayed. 

We know many of you have been eagerly waiting for these special editions, and we're just as disappointed as you are that they haven't arrived yet. We understand how frustrating delays can be, especially when you've been looking forward to receiving your box, and we truly appreciate your patience while we work through a situation that's unfortunately outside of our control.

21 May – Shipment selected for Australian Customs inspection

What Happened?

Everything on our end was completed on time, as scheduled, for both our Flame & Sparrow and The Last Letter special editions.

Our team worked hard to ensure everything was ready to go:

• Artwork was completed on time.
• Product sampling was approved without issue.
• Production finished as scheduled.
• The books were dispatched according to plan.

To streamline fulfilment, we also combined our Serpentine Valentine exclusive edition with this shipment.

Unfortunately, the shipping process completely fell apart.

Flame & Sparrow & Serpentine Valentine

After leaving production, the shipment experienced unexpected delays before it even began its journey, taking around three weeks to be loaded onto a vessel.

Finally, we were back on track with these editions making their way to our AUS Warehouse. But once the shipment arrived in Australia on 21 May, it was selected for inspection by Australian Customs. Since then, it has remained in customs awaiting release.

We know this is incredibly disappointing. Believe us when we say our team is just as frustrated as you are. 

We are in regular contact with our shipping partners, following up every day for updates and doing everything we can to keep the process moving. 

But unfortunately, customs inspections are outside of our control and we do not have the ability to expedite shipments. Australian Customs can hold shipments for up to 90 days, and as they are a governmental agency, this is not a time frame we can negotiate.

What about The Last Letter?

The good news is that our The Last Letter special editions have already arrived safely at our warehouse.

However, the A6 cards and bookmarks are part of the same shipment currently being held in customs alongside Flame & Sparrow and Serpentine Valentine. Because these items are included in every subscription box, we're unable to begin packing the contemporary boxes until they arrive.

What happens next?

As soon as the shipment is cleared and arrives at our warehouse, our team will begin packing orders and work as quickly as possible to get every box on its way.
