The Contemporary Romance Book Box is a bi-monthly box that brings Limited Edition hardcover books directly to your door.
This subscription is a little different
Due to licensing requirements, the Contemporary Romance subscription is currently available to customers with a shipping address in:
- Australia
- New Zealand
- United Kingdom
WHY ONLY THOSE COUNTRIES
This subscription will feature a mix of independently published and traditionally published books. Due to the complicated nature of licensing with traditionally publisher novels, we only have the rights to distribute some of the traditionally published books in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
We are looking into how we can distribute this box worldwide in the future.
If we can acquire the worldwide licensing for the book, we will ensure that customers outside of AUS/NZ/UK can grab a copy of these editions in our extra stock sales.
How it Works
The Contemporary Romance Book Box is bi-monthly - you will receive TWO books once every two months beginning in July 2025.
Contemporary Romance subscription months will be January, March, May, July, September and November each year.
Direct Debit Info
Renewal is on the 1st of the subscription month. For example, you will be charged on 1 September for the September box.
Skips
You can skip up to 3 boxes within 12 months (3 out of 6 per year) without losing your subscription spot.
Content Warning
This is a spicy book box which means our editions will occasionally include varying levels of NSFW artwork on the internal pages or back endpages.
We will let you know in the author announcement if there will be NSFW artwork included.

The two books will be either a duet, first two books in a series or two standalones by the same author.

HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE?
Subscription offers will no longer go out monthly. Instead, we will wait until we have enough places to be able to hold an "Offer Day".
The "Offer Day" will be on a set date at a set time and everyone on the waitlist will have a chance to subscribe on this day. (You will be notified of the date via email a minimum of 14 days in advance).
With this new process there will be no numbers or positions on the waitlist. Everyone will receive the password at the same time and will need to log onto the website to secure their subscription spot. The password will remain active for 48 hours or until the available subscription places are gone.
If all the available places fill on "Offer Day" anyone who misses out will need to sign up to the waitlist again (we will send you an email to opt in to this).
If we do not fill the subscription spots within that 48 hours, we will remove the password and the subscription will go "live" on the website for anyone to purchase. Then once subscription places are filled, we will reactivate the password and open a new waitlist for customers to sign up to.

This was my first box from Bookish & Spice and I love it! I am in the US so shipping is a little higher but absolutely worth it. Not knowing what will come in the box is such a fun surprise. Also, having the author sign a clear tag to add to your book if you want is a brilliant idea. The special edition book is stunning and I am so excited to add it to my library. Book mail is the best mail!

A LOVELY SURPRISE EVERY TIME
I have now received 2 fantasy romance book boxes and the products are AMAZING! I have subscribed to other book subscription services, but Bookish & Spice is by far the best. The books are STUNNING and the artworks inside the cover are magical. The dust covers are always intricately detailed and the sprayed edges make for a wonderful pop of colour on your bookshelf. Each box comes with additional goodies i.e., pin, signed authors sticker, bookmark & card which is a nice addition for those who love book merchandise. I definitely won't be cancelling my subscription EVER! It's great value for money AND it's an Australian service which is rare.
