Best quality of special edition books I have come across
Bookish and spice has the best quality of special edition books I have come across, and one of the only book subscriptions that sends completely undamaged books in perfect condition every time, and also books with dust jackets that can actually be reversed because they are high enough quality that this is possible without it sitting wrong. I can’t say how they are with replacing damaged books, and I’ve never received one that wasn’t in perfect condition (I’d rather than than the back and fourth with larger book boxes who don’t even bother with bubble wrap and it feels like every second book has scuffs that don’t meet the requirements for a replacement but is still sad when it cost so much).
Additionally, their reversible dust jackets have stunning designs with the book names so they are actually reversible (many book boxes do scenery, which is beautiful, but to me personally feels more like a 3rd end paper art rather than a genuine reversible dust jacket). I get 10+ book subs per month and I have never skipped the bookish and spice fantasy romance sub due to the quality of picks and book quality. Shipping is wonderful with transparent updates and always on time. The book picks are spot on, and their merch is also spot on. I’m eagerly awaiting the contemporary romance announcement on what is to come in July as I know it’ll be great.
The only on the fence comments I could give, which really is only because it gives a balanced review, is the art on the books, while always stunning, in my personal opinion has many similarities every month (eg, always colourful foiling in a dark background etc) whilst I do love them, I would love to see some new totally out of the box art in the future, with colourful sceneries that capture the magic in the story. However, I love this subscription and am impressed always, so I will be around to see how the books develop over time :)
Side note - the first book sub that I’m aware of that did Blood and steel/legends of Thezmarr series by Helen Scheuerer (IYKYK its a Roman Empire series) and many other book pics that other larger book subscriptions did after bookish and spice, which really highlights their dedication to great picks and not overlooking under-hyped books.

Laughing Fox Sweatshirt
